Public Consultation and next steps for the GMP+ Community
26 March 2020
#ProjectGMP+2020 started in December 2018 and a lot of work has been done recently with the Working Group. Specially developed scheme principles give direction to #ProjectGMP+2020 and guide us and the Working Group in making choices in rewriting the standards. The results were ready in December 2019 for the so-called public Consultation.
State of affairs of public consultation
The public consultation was launched after more than two years of listening, revising, writing and rewriting, together with the Working Group and various stakeholders. After a period of 3 months, 88 responses were received from, among others, GMP+ certified companies, auditors, consultants, partner organizations and other interested parties.
We have received responses to all proposed documents. The responses were diverse and included concrete change proposals, questions about the interpretation of requirements and also compliments about the clarity of the conditions and the structure of the renewed GMP+ FSA module 2020.
This confirms that we are on the right track. We greatly appreciate the responses and will review and assess them based on the scheme principles.
March and April will be devoted to the Working Group meeting. Given the Covid-19 outbreak, we need to remedy this remotely, but we do want to make progress. There we will discuss the change proposals to the Core Standard and the Technical Specifications based on the public consultation. We will also present the standards of the GMP+ FSA module 2020 that have not yet been discussed to the work group. We will then use the recommendations of the Working Group to draw up definitive standards for the GMP+ FSA module 2020.
Finally, a lot of work has recently been done on rewriting the requirements for the GMP+ FRA module and the requirements for Certification Bodies. Separate Working Group have worked on this and issued advice on this .
In May 2020, all new documents with advice will be coordinated with the International Expert Committee (IEC) and the various subcommittees. The aim is then to be able to show you the final draft version of the GMP+ 2020 scheme on July 1st 2020 on our website.
This version will therefore be submitted to the Accreditation Council for approval. As soon as the approval is received, we will share it with you and you can view the new GMP+ 2020 scheme on our website.
On the project website you can find an overview of the planning for #ProjectGMP+2020. Please note that these dates are preliminary and can be updated according to the progress of the project.
