UPDATE: mandatory GMP+ certification for applicable scopes for transport affreightment of own products postponed

Monday, July 27, 2020

For companies who transport GMP+ products by their own vehicles and barges, (additional) GMP+ certification is mandatory. But due to the lack of GMP+ accepted auditors outside Europe it is not always possible to certify companies at this moment under the standard GMP+ B4 or GMP+ B4.3. The same applies for affreightment activities.

Due to the Covid-19 (Corona) situation, it is not possible  for GMP+ certified companies outside Europe to obtain required scope(s) as mentioned in the newsletter published on January 31st 2020.

Changes

The following requirements mentioned in the newsletter are postponed for six months and adapted as follow.

  • Exemptions to deviate from the GMP+ requirements can be requested until March 31st, 2021.
  • Issued exemptions for the certification of Transport & Affreightment outside Europe are valid until July 1st, 2021, however, until that moment, these GMP+ activities must be assured by the GMP+ certified company in accordance with relevant GMP+ requirements.
  • As of July 1st, 2021, additional GMP+ certification is mandatory for the applicable scope(s).

GMP+ International is in constant contact with the Community to monitor the situation. These changes may be reconsidered at any given time, in view of developments and changing insights.
