Support with the transition to the GMP+ FC scheme 2020

Monday, October 31, 2022

From 1 September 2024, all companies must be certified in accordance with the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme 2020 (GMP+ FC). That might seem a long way off, but we advise companies to start looking now at what preparations they can make in order to make the transition from the GMP+ FC scheme 2010 to the GMP+ FC scheme 2020 proceed smoothly.

For example, it is helpful to find out where you can find the requirements from GMP+ FC 2010 in the updated scheme. During your preparations, or when working with the new documents, we offer support via the various support documents and the GMP+ Helpdesk.

Support documents

These documents offer support, guidance and information about the GMP+ FC scheme 2020. They also contain explanations and examples of how the requirements can be implemented. Most support documents are based on the former GMP+ D-documents.

A few examples of important support documents:

  • S9.95 Transition cross-reference tables

The GMP+ FC scheme 2020 has a different structure than the old scheme. Although the requirements have not changed significantly, they have now been grouped together in new documents and in different chapters. Cross-reference tables have been made for the GMP+ FSA module, the GMP+ FRA module and the certification requirements. The cross-reference tables will help you find the requirements from the existing scheme in the new GMP+ FC scheme 2020 and vice versa. You can find the latest version here.

  • S9.93 Transition certified companies – list of changes

Some subjects from the GMP+ FC scheme 2010 could not be rewritten without changing the content. These changes are minimal, but it is important to be transparent and to explain what they are. The changes primarily involve:

  • Combining requirements from different documents in a single paragraph;
  • Adding ISO 22000 requirements;
  • Reformulating requirements in order to be more ‘targeted’.
